Groundwater Replenishment
In recognition of locally dropping water levels, and the cost-effectiveness of underground water storage, implementers in the Walla Walla Basin have worked to pilot and develop operational groundwater replenishment projects with the objective of storing water in underlying aquifers during periods of higher water availability for later withdrawal or for the public benefit of "aquifer recharge".
